A Backyard Riverfront Venue 

Our open-air venue is nestled just above the Hiwassee River, enveloped by the surrounding wilderness, and joined by an eleven-acre meadow. Our modern rustic venue boasts towering fireplaces, grand vaulted ceilings, and a full-length covered deck overlooking the river. Inspired by the joy of togetherness, our venue is truly an extension of our home. It’s a place designed for celebration, connection, and the kind of moments that feel both grounded and unforgettable - where laughter echoes, glasses clink, and memories take root! Every detail was chosen to honor the natural surroundings, while offering comfort, warmth, and a sense of welcome to all who gather here.

  • The Meadow

    The Meadow at 1189 provides a serene and versatile natural settings for ceremonies and celebrations. The gently rolling field is ever-changing with the seasons, offering wild flowers in the Spring/Summer months with a beautiful backdrop of autumn leaves in the Fall. The meadow’s scenic beauty allows for a customizable setting that can be tailored to fit the unique needs of every occasion. Its natural charm and tranquil environment create an inviting space that makes every event memorable.

  • The River Deck

    Overlooking the scenic Hiwassee River and surrounded by untouched wilderness, The River Deck offers beautiful views and peaceful setting for nature enthusiasts. With generous shade provided by mature trees and a gentle river breeze, the comfort of The River Deck remains unwavering throughout the day, making it an excellent spot to unwind, relax, and truly connect with the natural world around you.

  • The Bridal Suite

    Experience elegance and tranquility in The Bridal Suite, perfectly situated in the sun room of the River House. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide beautiful views of the Hiwassee River and the venue grounds, creating an inspiring backdrop for your special day. The suite also features an en suite bath, offering privacy and convenience for the bride. This serene space offers simple (yet customizable) beauty, making it the ideal setting for bridal preparations and moments of calm before the celebration.

Off-Season (October - April)

The Hiwassee River typically begins to recede in October, with the water level rising again mid-April. While the main river is always present, we have little/no water on our property during this time.

Please Note: The water levels are not predictable. The river can rise and lower without notice - even outside of the off-season schedule.

The venue is available during off-season.

As your Lead Wedding Coordinator, 45-days out I will take over all communication with your venue, caterer, florist, photographer, and more. Managing Dreams, Not Just Details. With your plans in place and your vision clear, I’ll manage the logistics so you can focus on what matters most—celebrating love with your forever, your family, and friends. 

  • - Initial meet & greet
    - Venue walkthrough to fully capture your vision

    - Unlimited access via email or text

    - Two 30-minute month of check-ins (via Zoom) if desired
    - Vendor rally: coordination with all vendors to ensure every detail is communicated
    - Shared Google Sheets or Excel file share for budget tracking, RSVPs, and a detailed planning checklist
    - One in-person meeting during the month of your wedding
    - Rehearsal coordination (up to 2 hours)
    - Full wedding day management (including vendor and timeline coordination)
    - Styling support: decor setup using your provided items, with styling guidance for ceremony & reception in partnership with your venue and florist
